Working Culture is a partnership of Sophie Diamandi and Patricia Muncey. Our consultancy specialises in the interaction between people in organisations. This is often referred to as people management, emotional intelligence and people skills. We have worked in the fields of people management and organisational development for over twenty years. We developed Working Culture at the beginning of 2009.

Our organisation is built around values and principles which are extremely important to us. We are committed to building organisations that use the skills and abilities of all of their members to create successful and productive places to work. Sophie’s expertise is in generating cultural competence in individuals and organisations and Patricia’s expertise is in developing management strategies and approaches that merge an understanding of people with sound business processes.

How we work...

We specialize in helping organisations improve their productivity and employee satisfaction. We do this by talking to you about an issue you have within your business or an area you want to develop. We will spend time with you to identify all relevant aspects of the issue and the reasons you want to improve or change the situation. We will understand your specific business needs before we make recommendations.

We believe that good and effective management is about applying communication and people skills to systems and not about forcing people to fit in to inflexible systems. Our expertise is with people management, human relationships and development and the analysis and review of organisational culture, processes, policies, procedures and systems.

Our goal is organisations where people feel alive and that they are working well together. Some people refer to this as emotionally intelligent organisations. Other more prosaic individuals use terms such as functional organisations. Once your business needs have been identified we will recommend strategies and actions to achieve the outcome that you want. We will advise you on what is likely to be most successful given your resources and timeframe. All of our recommendations are based on available evidence.

An essential part of our service is assessment and development of cultural competence within the organisation. All organisations have their own culture and sub cultures and each individual within an organisation has his or her own unique culture. In our work, culture has a broad meaning as it includes ethnicity, age, gender, language, background, education, sexuality, health status, level of ability etc.

When an organisational culture works, managers and staff are free to focus on the agency's goals in an energetic, creative and productive manner.
